Branko Glavonjić is full professor at the Department for wood technology, Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade.

He graduated in 1988 from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Belgrade, Department of Wood Industry. He completed his master's studies in 1992 and defended his PhD thesis in 2000 at Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade. He was elected as assistant professor on the same Faculty in 2000, as associate professor in 2004 and as full professor in 2009. Since 2002, he has been a visiting professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He continues to hold this position today.

He is the author or co-author of over 140 scientific and professional papers published in international and domestic journals and conferences, including 21 articles in top level world scientific journals.

He is leading expert in Serbia for wood industry economics, market research and forecasting market trends in the field of wood and furniture industry. More than 20 years of experience in analyzing of market potentials and trends for timber and wood products, wood energy and policy in South-eastern European countries. He has been involved in or has led numerous projects realized in the region of South-eastern Europe, supported by governments of countries of the region (Serbia) or international organizations (FAO, UNDP, GIZ, WORLD BANK, USAID). He was manager of developing two strategies for the development of the wood and furniture industry in Serbia. Technical assistance to individual companies.

Branko Glavonjić is a founding member of WoodEMA i.a. He was chairman of the Timber Committee of the UNECE/FAO in Geneva from 2008 to 2010. He was Team Leader of the UNECE/FAO-Team of Specialists on Forest Products Statistics. Since 2021, he has been in the position of Deputy Team Leader of the UNECE/FAO Team of Specialists on Forest Products and Wood Energy Statistics.
