Hubert Paluš is Vice-dean for International Relations and Development of the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology and Associate Professor at the Department of Marketing, Trade and World Forestry, Technical University in Zvolen.
He received his habilitation degree doc. in Sectoral Economics at the University of Žilina, a Ph.D. in Sectoral Economics – Economics of Trade and Industry at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology Technical University in Zvolen, and a M.Sc. in Forestry Economics and Management at the Faculty of Forestry Technical University in Zvolen.
His areas of research include domestic and international forest products trade and marketing and forest and chain of custody certification. He has authored or co-authored over 150 publications and was involved in 22 domestic and international research projects including 1 EU 6.FP and 2 COST projects. He has made over 60 conference and university presentations.
Hubert Paluš is a founding member of WoodEma association, its Board member since 2007 and the President during 2009-2011. At national level he was a member of the Council for the Support of Research and Development in SMEs in the Agency for the Support of Research and Development during 2007-2014. He is a technical expert of the Slovak National Accreditation Service and for the last 11 years he has been working as a National Secretary for PEFC Slovakia, where he coordinated the standard setting process of the national sustainable forestry management standards and their international assessment and endorsement.
